SLOW DOWN

Read: Hebrews 11:6

“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” (NIV Hebrews 11:6)

Study: Having faith is not always easy. When our lives are so busy and there are so many distractions, faith can often fall by the wayside. Sometimes it can be difficult to have faith in Jesus’ plan when we see all of the turmoil in the world. It can seem as if, what we do, doesn’t really matter in the big scheme of things. But, as Christians, we have to believe that God can reward those who seek him. If we earnestly seek the Lord; if we have faith in Jesus, I believe we will begin to see Gods work around us. In this chapter of Hebrews, we see examples of people in the Bible who are filled with faith. They are witnesses to us of what can happen when we take the time to listen to Jesus and have faith in his work.

Prayer: Heavenly God, even though I fall short at times; even though I don’t always have faith like I should, I pray that you reveal yourself to me. Help me to listen; Help me to see; so that I may have the faith of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Moses. In your precious name I pray, Amen.
