QUICK TO LISTEN, SLOW TO SPEAK

Thursday

Read: Proverbs 16:24

“Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.” (NIV Proverbs 16:24)

Study: Over the past few days, we have been talking about the importance if listening. It is true that we are supposed to be slow to speak at times but it is important that we speak at times. This proverb reminds us of the healing power meaningful words can have. Words that are meant to heal and lift up can make all the difference when someone is struggling. Yes, we are called to listen, but we must also be willing to speak healing when people need it. The power of positive words cannot be understated. Today, I invite you to say something positive to someone you normally do not converse with.

Pray: Lord, today I rest in your words. I ask that you give me the words to share with those around me when I need to.  Show me those who need a nice word today.  Amen.
