Read: Mark 12:30-31

This is known as the Great Commandment. While it may seem straightforward and simple, we cannot forget exactly why this commandment is so important. Are you someone who is constantly pouring yourself out to others by serving them or thinking about them? This can be exhausting! Christ says that you cannot effectively serve those people you care about if you not love yourself! This means taking time for self-care. Are you someone who tends to put yourself before others? Christ says that you cannot properly care for yourself without caring for others as well. This is such a unique balance that we must strive to attain between loving others and loving self. Think about what you place the most emphasis on: self or other.
