Lent Devotion Daily Guide – March 31, 2022

Sometimes it can be scary to think about all of the things Jesus asks us to do. In a world of darkness Jesus asks us to bring light and stand against evil. The weight of this calling can sometimes feel overwhelming to me. In 1947 Jackie Robinson was asked to do something that must have seemed overwhelming. Jackie Robinson was asked to be the first black man to play on a professional white baseball team. Robionson had the hopes of black people all over the country on his shoulders, while fighting against many racist minded people in the country. Playing baseball well is a hard thing to do. Great professional baseball players fail every season to accomplish what they set out to accomplish. However, Robinson needed to succeed in the face of immense pressure.
