AN EVANGELIST?

Friday

Read:  1 Corinthians 1:17

17 For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel—not with wisdom and eloquence, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power. ” (NIV 1 Corinthians 1:17)

Study:  Many Christians do not feel adequate to do “evangelism.”  These Christians feel that they do not know the Bible, or theology well enough to be able to talk about the gospel of Christ with another. It certainly is important to grow in knowledge of our faith so that we can discuss our beliefs with confidence.  However, an evangelist is often referred to as a ‘witness.’  A witness simply testifies to the things that he/she has seen.  Every person who has had their life touched by the love and grace of Jesus Christ has a story to tell.  Each of us can make an important contribution to the life of another simply by telling our story, and allowing God’s grace to flow through us to another.  No matter where you are in the process of growth and study, if God has touched your life you have a story that the world needs to hear.

Prayer: Lord God, please let me embrace my calling to tell my story.  You have changed my life; please give me the courage to bear witness to your work. Amen.
