AN EVANGELIST?

¹⁵ “But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, ” (NIV 1 Peter 3:15)

Study:  Sometimes Christians get confused about why we are called to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with others.  Sometimes Christians believe we are called to share the gospel as a church growth strategy.  However, our reasons for sharing the gospel are much deeper and much more important than church growth.  When we experience the gospel of Jesus Christ we receive the gift of hope.  Hope is a powerful new tool that allows us to walk through life with a renewed joyful outlook.  The gift of hope is not something that we are supposed to keep to ourselves.  God gives us the gift of hope because he wants us to spread it to others who are in need. When we receive God’s hope we cannot keep it to ourselves.

 Prayer: Lord Jesus, please allow me to be generous with the hope that you give to me.  Even though I do not have it all figured out, I do know that you are with me.  Please help me be generous enough to tell others that they are not alone. Amen.
