A LIFE OF PIETY

Read: Matthew 6:24

“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.” (NIV Mattheww 6:24)

Study: This is one of those verses that challenges us as Americans because Jesus is very direct. Jesus tells us that we cannot put our trust in our money and in him. Today, I simply want you to be aware of your money. Pay attention to how often you think about money or things. Compare that to how often you think about God. If you find yourself putting money first, take some time to pray and ask God to lead you.

Prayer: God, guide my thoughts and my desires. Help me to serve only one master; You. Even when I stumble and money becomes my focus, forgive me and lead me back to your path. In your son’s name, Amen
