Study: Confession is a key practice in the Catholic church but it has been, sadly, neglected among protestant churches. James points out how important it is to confess our sins and our failures to those we are in holy continent with. When we confess to those we trust, James says that healing occurs because “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” Is there someone you are close to, outside of your immediate family, with whom you can confidentially confess to? I would encourage you to seek this type of relationship. If you do, you might find that healing will occur.

 Prayer: Heavenly God, I confess my shortcomings to you. Help me to be a listening ear to others. Thank you for forgiving me and always holding me up. Amen.
