Praying The Psalms 150 Days-150 Prayers (Final Week 22)
Welcome to Week 22 of Praying through the Psalms.
The leaders in the Oklahoma annual conference have asked all members to read and pray through the book of Psalms. Why the Psalms? The Psalms are a therapeutic hymnal. A range of emotions are expressed in the sometime short, other times lengthy worshipful pieces of poetry and prose. The Psalms comprised the worship book for the Jewish tradition. What do these Psalms say to us today? Allow the Holy Spirit to move within your heart and speak to you anew as you reflect on these passages.
We made it! For the last 150 days, we have been reading a Psalm per day and praying with a focus.
This week, we will end our focus on the Psalms with these, “Let everything that breathes praise the LORD! Praise the LORD!” What that praise looks in each of our lives is as diverse as the translations of scripture we have used to read these Psalms. Our call is for us to continue to pray for our church and world. Let us hold fast to Paul’s words to the Romans in the twelfth chapter which are subtitled Marks of the True Christian,
Monday – Read Psalm 146 – Pray for our pastor, staff, volunteers, and congregation
Tuesday – Read Psalm 147 – Pray for the sick and suffering
Wednesday – Read Psalm 148 – Pray for our schools

“Let love be genuine; hate what is evil, hold fast to what is good; love one another with mutual affection; outdo one another in showing honor. Do not lag in zeal, be ardent in spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope, be patient in suffering, persevere in prayer. Contribute to the needs of the saints; extend hospitality to strangers.”
