Read: Matthew 7:12

“¹² So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you,for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.” (NIV Matthew 7:12)

Study:  Most of us probably grew up hearing this “Golden Rule”. We may be familiar with what this verse says but sometimes we forget the importance in the familiar. Throughout this relationship series, we have been talking about how we treat others in relationships but the “Golden Rule” reminds us that our needs are also important in a relationship. We are to treat others how we want to be treated but this also means that, in a healthy relationship, we should seek to be treated with dignity and worth. Are you in a relationship that does not honor you as a child of God? If so, consider what you might need to do in order to either improve the relationship or end it. Know this: You deserve to be loved.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank you for showing me love today. I pray that you help me to love others like you have loved me while at the same time knowing that I deserve to be loved by others in the same way. Amen.
