Read: 2 Peter 2:1-3

“But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves. Many will follow their depraved conduct and will bring the way of truth into disrepute.  In their greedthese teachers will exploit you with fabricated stories. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.” (NIV 2 Peter 2:1-3)

Study: We all struggle with malice, deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander at times in our lives. When we choose to follow Christ, we do our best to put these negative things aside and commit to building a life centered on goodness. When we do this, we offer ourselves as a sacrifice pleasing to God. Today, you will be given an opportunity to choose any of these negative things or to choose Christ-like response. This happens every day. Follow Christ today and choose Christ. Build yourself up so that you can, in turn, show Christ to someone else.

Pray: Heavenly God, when things get tough, show me how to choose you. Build me up so that I can be your servant in this world.  Amen.
