Message from Pastor Adam (02-14-2021)

Hello Church Family! Happy Sunday everyone!  I hope you are all staying safe and warm.  This Wednesday we will be beginning the season of lent.  Lent is a traditional Christian season that began in the year 325.  Early Christians realized that it was important to take time to spiritually prepare themselves for the celebration of Easter.  We continue this tradition today, and this Wednesday we will begin the process of preparing ourselves for the coming of the Easter season.  This year at Connect Church our theme for the season of lent is “Overcoming the Lies.”  On February 17th we will be putting out a video to help you remember Ash Wednesday.  I encourage you to take the time to watch and see what God may say to you.  On February 17th we will also be beginning our Wednesday night Bible Study at 7:00 PM titled “Overcoming the Lies.”  This Bible Study will be weekly on zoom for 5 weeks.  If you would like to sign up please email me at adam@connectumc.org and I will send you the needed information.  On Sunday mornings we will also be discussing this important topic.  I hope you will all join us for worship each Sunday at 10:15 AM.  At the end of next week will be handing out a devotional guide to help you with prayer and meditation until the coming of Easter.  If you would like to receive a devotional guide please let us know so we can add you to the list.  Blessings to you all! We hope you will join us for our outdoor movie night. When you come be sure to each bring a canned food item to donate to Project 66. Project 66 is a local ministry dedicated to feeding people of the Edmond area who are in need. Our Youth and Mission team will also be selling movie night snacks to raise funds for various Missions and Youth events. We can’t wait to see you on March 12th!
