Daily Devotional – Day 10 Wesley Challenge
Day 10: Do I Get Up on Time and Go to Bed on Time?
Scripture:
1 Corinthians 14:40
Daily Challenge:
Set a consistent time to go to bed and wake up today—and follow through.
Teaching:
This might seem like an odd question to be part of an exercise on spiritual health. However, Wesley found that a healthy routine was an essential part of allowing him to be a healthy person. It is impossible to grow a healthy spirit when our lives are built on unhealthy patterns. This question is not just about sleeping, but committing our lives to healthy daily rhythms. A part of Spiritual growth is deeply connected to daily rhythms. While this question may seem practical, it reveals something deeper about discipline and stewardship. The way we manage our time affects our energy, focus, and ability to connect with God. When our schedules are inconsistent or chaotic, it often impacts other areas of our lives as well. God is a God of order, and He invites us to live with intentionality. Establishing healthy rhythms is not about legalism—it is about creating space for what matters most. Rest and discipline work together to support a healthy life. When we honor our bodies and our time, we are better equipped to serve God and others. Small changes in our routines can lead to significant transformation. Today, choose order over chaos.
Reflection Questions:
- How do my daily habits affect my spiritual life?
- Am I intentional with my time, or reactive to it?
- What is one change I can make to create healthier rhythms?
Prayer:
God, help me to steward my time well. Give me discipline in my daily routines. Teach me to value rest and order. Remove distractions that lead to chaos. Help me create space for what truly matters.
