A Teachable Heart
Teaching:
Now that Christmas has passed, the question becomes: Is my heart still open and teachable to what Jesus wants to show me next? Proverbs 9:9 reminds us that wise people continue to grow because they stay teachable. Waiting in readiness requires a heart that is willing to keep learning even after God has already moved. The shepherds didn’t stop after seeing the baby—they went out glorifying God and telling others what they had learned. A teachable heart does not close once the blessing arrives but remains open for deeper understanding. Many people become spiritually stagnant because they stop learning after the excitement fades. But a ready heart keeps seeking, listening, and growing. Jesus wants to teach us new things even after Christmas Day—truths about His love, His mission, His character, and His plans for our lives. Waiting in readiness means never assuming we have learned everything. God reveals wisdom over time, not all at once. A teachable heart ensures we continue walking with Him long after the celebration ends. Today, choose to stay open to His voice as you enter the days ahead. The story didn’t end in the manger, and your growth shouldn’t end after Christmas either.
Scripture Reading: Proverbs 9:9; Luke 2:17–20
Prayer:
Jesus, keep my heart teachable as I move forward from Christmas. Help me continue learning from Your Word and Your Spirit. Show me where You want to grow me next. Give me wisdom to stay humble and responsive. Thank You for continuing the work You started in me.
