Letting Go of Limits
Teaching:
Waiting in readiness requires letting go of the limits we place on God and on what God can do through us. Philippians 4:13 reminds us that we can do all things through Christ—not through our strength but through His. As the birth of Jesus approached, God was preparing to do far more than anyone expected. The shepherds didn’t limit God; they simply believed the message and followed it. But many of us allow our doubts, insecurities, and past failures to keep us from readiness. When we limit what God can do, we naturally limit what God can do through us. Waiting becomes discouraging when we assume the outcome is small or predictable. But God specializes in doing bigger things than we imagine—just as He did on that first Christmas night. Readiness means releasing our assumptions and accepting God’s power as greater than our limitations. It means believing that God can work through our weaknesses, fears, and imperfections. When we wait with an open heart, God reveals possibilities we never would have created on our own. Christmas reminds us that the impossible becomes possible when God enters the story. Today, choose to let go of the limits and step into God’s bigger plan. He can do more through you than you dare to imagine.
Scripture Reading: Philippians 4:13; Luke 2:1–7
Prayer:
Jesus, help me let go of the limits I place on myself and on You. Fill my heart with faith that You can do more than I expect. Give me courage to believe in Your power and Your plan. Prepare me to be used in ways I cannot yet see. Thank You for being greater than my limitations.
Meditation Questions:
1. What limits have I placed on God’s ability to use me?
2. What fears or assumptions hold me back?
3. How is God inviting me to trust His strength over my own?
