Words Can Bless

Teaching:
Proverbs 25:11 tells us, “A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver.”

When words are used wisely and at the right time, they are beautiful and precious. A single kind or encouraging word can lift a heavy heart. A gentle reminder of truth can guide someone back to God’s path. Words, when spoken with wisdom and love, are blessings that shine like treasures. Sometimes people carry silent burdens, and all they need is one uplifting word to keep going. That is why God calls us to be thoughtful about not just what we say, but when we say it. Words of blessing are timely—they come when needed most. A wise person doesn’t rush to speak, but does not hesitate to share words of healing and hope. When we let God guide our speech, our words can be gifts that heal, comfort, and strengthen others. Foolish people are careless with valuable and powerful things, but wise people know that their words can be like gold. The right word at the right time is one of the greatest blessings we can give.

Questions for Meditation:

  1. When was the last time someone’s words encouraged me deeply?
  2. Do I look for opportunities to bless others with my words?
  3. How can I allow God to guide the timing of my speech?

Prayer:
Father, thank You for the reminder that my words can be a blessing. Help me to speak at the right time with wisdom and love. Guard me from careless words that hurt instead of heal. Use me to encourage others with words that bring life. May my speech shine like gold for Your glory.
